Fred Pescatore, M.D., M.P.H.
A traditionally trained physician who has chosen to practice integrative medicine, Fred Pescatore, M.D., M.P.H, is medical director of the AHCC (Active Hexose Correlated Compound) Research Association headquartered in Rye, New York. He currently has a private practice called The Centers For Integrative and Complementary Medicine with offices in New York City and Dallas. There he treats diabetes, heart disease, hepatitis, and cancer patients, as well as those with more daily concerns, by employing a combination of both alternative and traditional Western medicine.
Dr. Pescatore's medical knowledge is based upon his training at New York City's St. Vincent's Hospital, Mt. Sinai Medical Center and St.Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center. Previous to beginning his own practice, Dr. Pescatore was Associate Medical Director at the Atkins Center, the world's preeminent institution for complementary medicine.
Dr. Pescatore was the host of Your Health Choice-The Friday Edition, a radio program airing on WEVD in New York City where he spoke with listeners about integrative medicine. He is the author of Thin For Good and Feed Your Kids Well, a book recognized as the top children's health book of 2000. He also appears regularly as a guest on national media as an integrative medical specialist.
Dr. Pescatore received his master's degree in public health from Columbia University's School of Public Health and his medical doctorate from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
